About Us
Local access, responsive and user friendly.

Connecticut’s probate courts are the only court system in the state where the judges are elected by the people in the communities they serve. With 117 local courts, Connecticut residents easily can get user-friendly guidance on such probate matters such as:

  • Decedent's Estates
  • Trusts
  • Conservatorships
  • Guardianships
  • Termination of parental rights
  • Determination of temporary custody of minors
  • And more!

Lawyers, too, find the system easy to navigate. In a 2005 survey conducted by the legislative staff of the Program Review and Investigations Committee of our General Assembly, 90 percent of lawyers stated they were satisfied with how the system functions.

Probate Judges take pride in their work
and in this successful system – because probate matters.
